Disclaimer: This is not a Power User question, but rather more of the Computer Enthusiasts kind. Also, I don't know the right site to post this kind of question.

I'm writing a paper in which I am asked to mention and describe "5 types of information systems" to which my teacher explained:

Like Web, Mobile, etc…, for example…

He also said that we're not able to mention and describe those mentioned above.

So the question is:

What is the right topic to research or look into for more information about these different types of "information systems"?
